Peter is a pioneering sustainability advocate and industry practitioner who has been at the forefront of driving more sustainable supply chains and ethical trading business practices across multiple international agri-food supply chains over the past 18 years.

Qualified in Food Technology, Peter’s 35-year career has covered the entire value chain; from sourcing and manufacturing Technical and Quality Assurance to supermarketing Operations Management where he has enjoyed major commercial success before transitioning into Corporate to lead a variety of Sustainability, CSR, ESG, External Affairs and Communications functions at renowned companies such as Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, Tesco Stores, Birds Eye Iglo, Iglo Foods Group, Nomad Foods, Regal Springs Group and more recently as an independent advisor in the boutique consulting sector.

Sustainable Supply Chains and Brands
Nearly two decades ago, Peter started to play a pivotal role in transforming the responsible supply chain stewardship and disclosure practices for major agri-food upstream supply chains globally. In 2009, Peter became one of the first executives to be appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer at Birds Eye Iglo, the European frozen foods brand leader (now Nomad Foods), responsible for charting the new sustainability journey of the company and defining supply chain sourcing policies and brand sustainability standards across all food categories in nine countries.

He has played a key role in either founding or leading the development of well-known non-profit third-party sustainability and ethical trading certification organizations and schemes now used for verifying sustainability and ethical trading disclosure and that also provide key metrics to inform well-known ESG reporting platforms.

Driving Company Transformation and Sustainable Growth
Peter’s international management experience now spans to over 26 countries with an expansive company and category management track record of what makes food brands and their product ranges commercially successful and more sustainable.

He has led numerous company transformation programmes during turnarounds, post M&A integrations or changes in strategy to design unique sustainability value creation programmes that operationalise sustainability systems, reporting and people capability development solutions that positively reshape company culture and strengthen companies and their brand’s ability to generate responsible growth and shared value benefits, whilst respecting the planet.
