Dr Marinos Voukis

Marinos Voukis currently works as Director of Communication, Marketing and International Relations Services at the Cyprus University of Technology. He holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Piraeus (Greece), a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from California State University, Fresno (USA) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) related to Sustainability from Panteion University (Greece). 

 

He possesses, among others, more than 20 years of work experience in 5 esteemed higher educational institutions, in 3 countries, both in Europe and the USA. During the above mentioned work experience, there was, among other areas, a special emphasis on the areas of Marketing / Branding / Promotion / Public and International Relations while being part of the launch of new projects and actively contributing to their global success. In addition, before repatriating, Marinos worked for more than 1 year at the headquarters of a multinational company as Globalization Coordinator, in the International Marketing Department (USA). 

 

In July 2023, he was elected as President of the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Cyprus (CSR Cy), member of the CSR Europe. He is certified as a Chief Sustainability Officer by ILM (United Kingdom), as a GRI Certified Trainer, according to the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards and as a Trainer by the Cyprus Human Resources Development Authority (HRDA). In addition, he is serving as a Member of the Advisory Council of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) from 31/12/2019 to date. Marinos is actively contributing as a Member of committees for CSR/Sustainability and Education awards in USA, UK and Cyprus (e.g. AASHE Sustainability Awards, Green Gown Awards (UK), Cyprus Responsible Business Awards, Cyprus Education Leaders Awards). 

 

Marinos has participated in many educational and/or corporate conferences, seminars and fora related to Marketing, Sustainable Development and CSR and has published articles in the local daily printed and online press about sustainable development and higher education institutions. In 2020 he wrote and published the first Greek fairytale regarding the 17 SDGs, which is approved by the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, circulated for free, currently being translated into other languages.
